Understanding Trauma and PTSD
Trauma can take many forms—abuse, loss, violence, discrimination, neglect, medical trauma, or growing up in an unpredictable environment. PTSD and Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) are common responses to overwhelming life experiences.
Signs of trauma might include:
- Flashbacks or intrusive memories
- Hypervigilance, anxiety, or panic attacks
- Emotional numbness or dissociation
- Relationship difficulties or trust issues
- Shame, self-blame, or identity confusion
If these symptoms sound familiar, you’re not broken. These are survival strategies your body and mind learned to protect you.

How We Heal Together
I take a gentle, body-aware, and client-led approach to trauma therapy. Our work may include:
- Somatic and nervous system regulation to restore safety in your body
- Psychoeducation to help you understand how trauma impacts your brain and emotions
- Mindfulness and grounding practices to anchor you in the present
- Parts work and inner child healing to repair internal disconnection
- Attachment-based work to build trust and repair relational trauma
This is not a one-size-fits-all process. We collaborate to find what feels supportive and safe for you.
Who This Is For
This approach is especially helpful if you:
- Feel stuck in survival mode or chronic stress
- Have a history of childhood trauma or emotional neglect
- Experience relationship patterns you want to change
- Are recovering from sexual trauma or assault
- Want to reconnect with your body, intuition, and inner safety
You don’t need to have a “big” trauma story for your pain to be valid. If your nervous system is still carrying the weight of the past, you deserve care.
A Trauma-Informed Space
Healing requires safety—and safety starts with relationship. I bring warmth, clarity, and consent into every session. We move at your pace. I’ll never push you to go deeper than you’re ready for.
Together, we’ll create a space where your nervous system can start to soften, where shame can loosen its grip, and where you can begin to feel whole again.
